Grilled melon with bacon

Ingredients

  • 2 round slices (about 3-4 cm thick) of watermelon, without seeds
  • 2 tsp. olive oil – half for basting, half for finishing
  • 4 slices of F. Ménard bacon
  • 2 tbsp. feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar
  • A few fresh basil leaves, chopped or mint leaves, depending on your taste

Preparation

  1. Cut your melon in half, then cut two full round slices about 3-4 cm.
  2. Brush your watermelon slices with olive oil.
  3. Light your BBQ at medium-high heat.
  4. Cook your bacon slices at the same time as your watermelon slices, about 2 minutes on each side or until the bacon and melon are a little grilled.
  5. Chop the grilled bacon and garnish your watermelon slices.
  6. Garnish with crumbled feta cheese.
  7. Pour a light coulis of balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
  8. Garnish with chopped basil or fresh mint.
  9. Cut into quarters and serve this sweet and savory delight to your guests!
