Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 2 peppers (yellow, orange or red) of small size
  • 1 large zucchini (or 2 small)
  • 5-6 fresh mint leaves
  • 2-3 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 small branch of fresh thyme
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 beef patties
  • 4 slices of provolone cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns

Preparation

  1. Wash and cut the peppers into strips, taking care to remove the seeds.
  2. Wash the zucchini and cut in fairly thin slices.
  3. Preheat a frying pan, roast peppers first because the cooking time is longer (about 10-12 minutes), turning them occasionally for even cooking.
  4. Put the roasted peppers in a glass container.
  5. Continue with the zucchini and add to the peppers.
  6. Add the herbs, garlic, oil and season with salt and pepper. Allow the flavor to blend in the vegetables for at least 30 minutes *, mixing them occasionally.
  7. Prepare the burgers: In a very hot pan, cook the bacon rounds on each side for about 30 seconds and remove them.
  8. In the same pan, cook the beef patties on each side for 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Spread mustard on 8 halves of bread and garnish with grilled vegetables, add the beef patty, bacon round and cheese.
  10. Then put the bread in the oven to melt the cheese and warm up the meat and serve immediately.
