Bacon, leek and cheese tartines

Ingredients

  • 250g of sliced F. Ménard ​​bacon, diced (1 package)
  • 500 ml (2 cups) leek whites, thinly sliced
  • 120g (1/4 lb) cream cheese, softened (about 125 ml 1/2 cup)
  • 100g (3 1/2 oz) strong cheddar cheese, grated (about 1 cup)
  • 75 ml (1/3 cup) fresh parsley, chopped
  • Freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 8 slices of Country Bread “Au Pain Doré Origine”

Preparation

  1. Place the rack in the center of the oven, then preheat the oven at Broil.
  2. Fry the bacon in a nonstick pan over medium-high heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Add the thinly sliced leeks and continue cooking for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  3. Add both types of cheese, parsley and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Place the slices of bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the bacon mixture evenly over the bread slices.
  5. Broil for 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Serve as an appetizer, as a side dish for brunch, as breakfast or with a soup.
