Maple bacon crusted brie

  • 8 slices of F. Ménard bacon, chopped
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 wheel (approximately 200g) double cream brie
  • 1 commercial or homemade puff pastry
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten



  • Maple syrup, walnuts and maple sugar sprinkles


  • Cook the bacon in a saucepan over medium high heat until crisp

  • Add the syrup and caramelize for a few minutes

  • Remove from heat and let sit on paper towels

  • Unroll your puff pastry and stretch it a little if necessary with a rolling pin so that you can fold it over the brie

  • Place the brie in the center of the dough

  • Cut the caramelized bacon into small pieces and place it on the brie

  • Close the dough well over the brie, making sure not to leave an opening

  • Brush the dough with the beaten egg

  • Bake 20 minutes at 375 ° F

  • Remove from the oven and drizzle with a little syrup. Sprinkle with maple sugar and walnuts

  • Serve hot with slices of baguette or on its own.
